The language of the night is the language of romance, mystery, and poetry.  The night knows what the day can only imagine. Under the cover of darkness, romance blossoms. Under the cover of the night sky, mystery intensifies. At night, poetry happens.

Some fear the unknown. Think of a dark alley, and many creepy things come to mind. Perhaps a psycho waiting to pounce on his or her victim, a scary monster from childhood tales, or dirty rats scurrying around. But the night can be turned from friend to foe by anyone willing to ignore the familiar fears of our growing up years. Beyond fear, something beautiful awaits. Something better always exists beyond fear.

The language of the night can be tears and longing for someone missed or something lost. A girl cries for her first heart break, a baby cries for milk, a man cries for a lost business. Tears are unwanted, but the night is full of tears that are too brave or proud to make appearance in broad daylight.

The language of the night is sometimes a whisper or pillow talk. Sometimes it’s a caress. It is the assurance and the promise of love that will withstand the days to come. Sometimes it’s the ringing of the phone, anticipated by lovers kept apart by long distance. Sometimes it’s an instant message asking for a cup of coffee or a rendezvous.

Of course, evil lurks in darkness, even when the moon is inspiring and the night is beautiful. Evil is always there. Many dishonest transactions use the cover of the night. Many immoral and indecent acts are made at night. The sinful and the wicked speak the language of the night too, but it is laced with evil and sin.

One must take precaution when listening to the languages of the night. Conquer the fear of darkness and enjoy the love and beauty of the night, but be wary of the pitfalls and traps of evil. Anywhere in the world, this holds true.
